Wrists 2: Electric Boogaloo

Well, after some prodding by J. Steven York, and my own dissatisfaction with my earlier attempts, I decided to try again to create a bi-rotating wrist assembly for James Bond. I went to "RC Buyers' Warehouse," in Nashua, NH, to get the hinge joints I'd need. Bond is holding one now. Note how much neater his wrist looks.

One leg of the hinge is shortened considerably, to go in the hand. The other was a trifle too narrow for the hole in the arm, so I wrapped it in tape.

From this angle, it doesn't look quite as good. the hinge was a little floppy, so I re-inforced it with thread around the pin to tighten it up. (I don't expact that to last.)

A close-up of the taped pin.

Another shot of the raw hinge. Note the "enclosure" around the wrist, made from the wrist rubber of another 21st Century hand, worn "backward." The hand has a bit of a "socket" to hold that. The cap should ideally rotate with the wrist pin.

Here are the hinges in the bag. Brand name and part number fully visible.

Ands he's back to holding his PPK, with better angles to choose from.

And terrific posability as you see here.
